A Brief Disambiguation of: Sound Cards

Most sound cards use a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), which converts recorded or generated digital data into an analog format. The output signal is connected to an amplifier, headphones, or external device using standard interconnects, such as a TRS phone connector or an RCA connector. If the number and size of connectors is too large for the space on the backplate the connectors will be off-board, typically using a breakout box, an auxiliary backplate, or a panel mounted at the front. More advanced cards usually include more than one sound chip to support higher data rates and multiple simultaneous functionality, for example digital production of synthesized sounds, usually for real-time generation of music and sound effects using.......

ARJUN has established itself as a three-piece band capable of fusing together the power of rock with improvisational jazz influences to produce a tight, groovin sound that fills clubs across the Northeast. With Eddie Arjun Peters on guitar, Lamar Myers on drums and Andre Lyles on bass, the group attracts a diverse group of fans who are searching for sexy, edgy songs held together with a great beat.

Arjun is the brainchild of lifelong musician Eddie Arjun Peters who’s love affair with music since dates back to his early days in Queens, New York. ARJUN has always been committed to preserving the mainstream-challenged art of instrumental music; something that is not quite rock but not exactly jazz either. It is the fusion of these two art forms that define ARJUN and it is ARJUN’s music that draws enthusiastic crowds everywhere.

In 2006, ARJUN signed with Pheromone Records...

The Future of Music Production: DJ Eyes Only

Picture
DJs are as wide and varied as the music they play, and the music lovers they play for. The evolutionary pace of technology change and innovative adoption is proof of the constant fluidity that determines the future of music.

With the recent boom in the music technology sector that has opened up opportunities for a larger population of musicians, a DJ's best friends will be his/her skills, imagination, and music. It is becoming increasingly important to create a unique sound while embracing current technology. DJs are now being challenged to create an audiovisual experience for all listeners.
Here's a question that begs to be debated. How much does the "shock factor" really matter when talking about good DJs? In a general sense, a DJ that selects and mixes music in a way that entertains, shocks, and creates emotion will win the survival of the fittest. The technology we have today for producers and DJs is the most fundamental way of getting that idea across through sound.

One up and coming DJ Grunge put it perfectly, "Right now, with beat matching becoming a thing of the dinosaurs, I think DJs

need to approach music from a different angle. Instead of fading from one song to the next we have to be more focused on loops, effects, triggers and layers. But, at the same time, the basics will win the crowd over, no matter how complicated we try to make it."

The future of DJing is at the intersection of production, entertainment and performance. Far from there being a "standard" DJ setup like decks & a mixer, increased personalization and automation of setups will allow DJs as performers to take on more control and do more with their two hands and bodies. There will be a dichotomy and cohesion between the group of DJs who will embrace the new technology and take it to places others can only dream, and the group of DJs who......
